1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of The Locker Room (“TLR,” “we,” “us”), operated by The Locker Room. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use TLR.
2. Who can use TLR
- You must be at least 13 years old to use TLR.
- Users aged 13–17 must have a parent or legal guardian provide consent and maintain oversight of the account. A parent/guardian who consents also agrees to these Terms on the minor’s behalf.
- Users under 13 are not permitted.
- By using TLR, you represent that the information you provide (including age) is accurate.
3. What TLR is (and is not)
- TLR is a sports-first social platform where student-athletes build profiles, share content, and manage NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) compliance and disclosures.
- TLR is a venue and system of record — not a party to, arranger of, or broker of any NIL deal. Deals are between athletes (and their guardians) and brands. TLR does not negotiate, guarantee, or take a fee from deals.
- No money moves through TLR. Any payment between a brand and an athlete happens directly between them, off-platform. TLR records disclosures for compliance purposes only.
- TLR does not provide legal, financial, tax, or eligibility advice. Users are responsible for compliance with their school, PIAA, and applicable rules.
4. Your account
- You must provide your date of birth at signup so we can confirm eligibility. We store only your birth year and whether you are a minor.
- Keep your login credentials secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
- One person per account (except parent/guardian oversight accounts as designed).
- You may delete your account in-app at any time. Note: NIL deal disclosures already recorded are retained for compliance/school-reporting purposes even after account deletion, in de-identified or record form as applicable.
5. User content and conduct
You are responsible for content you post. You agree NOT to post content that:
- Is harassing, threatening, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or profane;
- Is false, misleading, or impersonates another person;
- Violates any law, third-party right, or school/athletic-association rule;
- Contains spam, malware, or unauthorized advertising.
Moderation. Content you post — including text and video — is screened automatically before it appears. For video, a still image from the video is checked. Content that fails this screen is blocked or held for human review before it is shown. We also review reported content, and may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We provide in-app tools to report and block content and users.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on TLR. Reported content is reviewed and acted on, and users who violate these Terms may be removed.
You grant TLR a non-exclusive license to host, encode, store, and display the content you post — including video — for the purpose of operating the platform. You retain ownership of your content. Video you upload is processed and streamed by our video provider on our behalf.
6. NIL deals and disclosures
- Athletes may invite brands onto TLR to make a deal official for disclosure/compliance purposes.
- Disclosure records may be shared with the athlete’s school and athletic director for eligibility oversight.
- TLR does not verify, guarantee, or endorse any brand, deal, or payment.
- Athletes (and guardians for minors) are solely responsible for ensuring deals comply with PIAA and school rules.
7. Minors and parental oversight
- For users 13–17, a parent/guardian consents to the account and can review it, approve or decline NIL deals, and request changes or deletion.
- NIL deals involving a minor require guardian approval before the disclosure is recorded.
8. Intellectual property
TLR and its logos, design, and software are owned by The Locker Room. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the app except as permitted by law.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- TLR is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, TLR is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any dispute, deal, or payment between an athlete and a brand.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the platform or its users.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms and will revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them. Material changes affecting minors will be communicated to parents/guardians where appropriate.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
